New Purchase and Intro
Hello all! My name is Tony and I'm from Lakewood, CO.
So my little brother is turning 16 soon, so to help my parents out i decided to give my brother my 2008 Legacy 2.5i. But that left me with a problem, what car will i drive now? Luckly my friend was selling his EVO 8, so i said "Ohhhhh ... Why not?!?" Hopefully i didn't make a mistake buying it 3 months before my wedding LOL!
So here are the specs:But this is going to be quite the project i soon found, because it has 3 of the common issues of the EVOs along with some othersAlso i have to change the timing belt (the full kit), diff fluid, transfer case fluid, spark plugs, etc etc etc etc.
Future plans:I just want ~350HP in a reliable fun package. Well anyways, here she is:

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes.
Yeah, he was a very nice friend. Gave me everything for well below KBB, basically he only needed $10k to down on his next car.
Hey that's what family is for, right?

congrats bro, the evo is a great platform. i dd mine 80 miles a day 5 days a week with 432whp on e85 and when i sent my block in fora a Buschur 2.3 he said it was in great shape so bottom line do it right and keep it maintained and youll enjoy it for a long time.
So over the weekend, decided to do an oil change, coolant flush, fix the broken sun visor, and wash her. I didnt know that the parts department at the Mitsubishi dealer is closed on saturday, so i couldnt get DiaQueen SAE90 and factory 75W85.

So saturday hasnt been the best day .... so after taking out the charge pipe to flush the coolant, the original Injen hose coupler gave out on me. My friend had to run to the auto parts store to get one of those cheap couplers, while i was on the side of the road. I dont know if any of you guys have been stuck on the side of the road with the evo, but it was possibly the most embarrassing thing that has happened in a while. Because if i got a $0.25 for every WRX/STi that reved its engine at me when it passed, i would be able to get my replacement part for free...
Just ordered a new replacement Injen part from summit racing.
