How bad is the risk of paint chips getting inside cover going into oil and how dangerous?

None if you prep the cover properly and mask the bottom of the cover off.

??? When u paint it u remove it, tape up the inside and plug all the spark plug holes along with breather holes. Then u paint the top. You should not get any paintchips falling into the oil.

Okay I'll extend this. It was previously painted black. I removed with aircraft stripper, painted a cool shade of metallic orange...after putting it back on I notice cracking paint on the inside where the oil cap goes, I donovhow cause I taped it all off...how bad is this?
