So I was bored one day and had an extra dash laying around when I decided to make something out of it. I wanted to be able to play any device I wanted but I didnt want a ugly radio. I wanted something more unique. So I decided to do BT (Bluetooth) streaming. I needed a volume knob and a bass knob. And this is what came out of it. What do you guys think? Im running a 4 channel amp and a mono amp. Any questions let me know.

I think the work looks great! Isn't my style, but it's awesome for a blanked out dash...

 

I think it's too plain. The Evo interior is already plain from the facotry this is taking it even plainer my point being is that it's plain but if you like plain then you got what you are looking for. Did I mention it looks plain? On a serious note its plain lol but if you like it that's all that matters

 

In all honesty... the Evo interior is somehow a perfect blend of what it is.

It isn't too plain, and if you make it "plainer" then I think it looks silly too (as kanovic pointed out). But when you add navi screens and such... I think it looks overdressed.

Putting in a headunit thats more than $80 is almost overkill haha.

 

Maybe a Carbon Fiber wrap or something to spice it up a little? awesome work though

With that dash looking so clean I feel as though you have to do something with the hvac controls to clean those up too. Carbon fiber warp might help it... if you could get it to match the other carbon fiber like accents in the interior. I also agree with ProPilot04 anything other than a factory looking radio is overkill for an Evo. Awesome work by the way and it is unique.

 

Nice initiative, but again real plain.

Carbon (or other type, there's plenty) wrap would break it up a bit. Otherwise do some more finishing work (looks like some pitting still there) then texture it and repaint it something matte.

 

+1 for carbon fiber wrap, it'll look a lot better imo.

Can't hate on DIY projects that don't make the evo look "ugly". Nice mod but I would just do as others were saying and dress it up a little. Flat black like that doesn't look like a finished product.

The orbital double din and hvac relocation fits perfectly fine in regards to flow.

 

I agree with all you guys. This is just a mock. I am going to carbon wrap this dash. It's way to plain for my liking. A carbon wrap will be perfect.
