You aren't the only one that ended up with another evo and feels like killing the prior owner. My previous IX was bought as second owner and both ends took really good care of it.

The new evo is a pain and finding the "little" problems that an evo shouldn't be subject to. Bad previous owners that didn't take good care of it. Now it's my problem trying to get it back to the level it should be!

26.5k even though it had 80k on the clock.

I forgot to add i need to get another engine harness plug for the plug that connnects to the alternator. The one on my harness is missing the orange connector.

He stated it was one of his gauge wires that he planned on replacing to simplify the setup.

Thanks for sharing. That really is an insane story.

I've wanted an evo since I was 16 and finally got it last year. Yesterday was literally the 1 year anniversary *feeeeels* I'm 29 turning 30 this year and as much as wished I got the car when I was younger (when all my friends started), I think I have a greater respect for the car in terms of retaining the balance which makes the car so awesome to begin with.

The time between want and own also gave me lots of time to read, research and plan things out. I believe in the approach of sticking to one shop like you mentioned. As far as modifications...sure, compromises will have to be made here and there depending on budget and goals but because I finally have what I wanted for sooooo long I don't mind waiting until I can afford to do X,Y and Z. I'm of the mind do it once - do it right. I will save until such time as I can do exactly what I want. That way I'm not saying woulda, coulda, shoulda if or when things go wrong. Not to say you did - if anything I'm preaching to the choir.

I'm about to pretty much finish up my bolt-on mods this month as tbe exhaust, i/c+ ti piping and toxicfab manifold arrive. Max out the bbk full in the hopes of 400+ whp (no e85 here ). I want a responsive street machine that can hold it's own against some other big boy toys here and there. Problem is usually one of two: get bored with the power or the ego gets hurt right? Get beat by this or that too many times and the hunt for power is on....and I'm genuinely concerned about that.

I think it goes back to that saying. It's about the journey and not the destination. Unfortunately some journeys are more arduous and expensive than others...but much respect brother - I'm glad you never gave up on her.

Yeah its actually very hard to enjoy the journey especially with the experiences I've had. Usually I'm bored and looking for the next challenge when I get done. This is the first time I'll be glad when I have reached my destination.

This car is a human fly trap. Its so easy to get big power out of (I mean stupid nonsensical power) that no one would ever need on the street for relatively little money when compared to almost any car platform that once you start modifying and looking for power beyond stock (IE building block, bigger frame turbo) it becomes a runaway freight train.

Before you know it you are 15k in and you have a barely streetable Evo. Just be careful and know when to say when.

Even with the experiences I've had I'm debating sending the turbo in for a 6266 upgrade.....for no other reason then wanting a more efficient turbo.....but more efficient means more power.........and thus the battle begins.

And at least in my case.......the car always wins. Until now.

I sympathize with you. Very similar story to what happened to my beloved Black Evo. My White Evo is just about complete, fighting one last gremlin. I know exactly how you feel. I wanted no part of an Evo after my accident, but I just love theses cars too much to just give up.

Oil return line fixed but dump tube is busted off. Tack weld seems like it broke on it's own. I swear to Christ this car is trying to break me.

Mistaken told me the video of the fire was set to private. My bad. It's public now. It's awesome watching it.

Not really.

Don't do it Kari. Its not worth it. And if you do stay stock frame. 500 is plenty for the street.

FML....Gotta wait until tomorrow to find out how much the got damn dump tube replacement is gonna be. I feel like its the blue car all over again. Jesus.
