Thanks. I wish I didn't have such entertaining posts at this cost but like I said if my story can help anyone then at least it wasn't all for nothing.

That day was crazy....just picked the wife up, driving along smell something see smoke.......she's bailing out fo the car before I even came to stop. It was crazy
Man i feel deeply for you Smurf, but i'm happy that you decided to stay in the evo game and give it another try. Keep at it, and hopefully after all the stress, blood, sweat, tears and money you have invested in the evo's, the black car will make you happy.
I've certainly entertained thoughts of going crazy with my evo as well and your advice and all that you've had to go through has put me in perspective now.
Kudos to you on your courage, strength and patience.
Once you get the car running 100% to your liking, experiment with some exterior mods and so on to curb your boredom.

Thanks for sharing...enjoyed the story and wish you the best with your future mod choices. I've had my own ups and downs with my evo.
Stock to bolt ons...
Fp black...
e85 + bb fp black...
Shipped off to Buschur: new 2.3rpm motor, heads, tranny, clutch...(car down 3 mths)
First pass at strip popped a wave ring...(car down 1 mth)
1st day after new clutch...Kelford cam fail, screwed up heads, etc, etc...(car is still down going on 4 mths).
While in the shop I upgraded to a Buschur HTA86, AMS F1 intake, shep tcase, shep diff, etc...
I'm praying when AWD finishes up with the car it is fully sorted and strong for a long time.
The money I've spent over the last year is just disgusting!

I've never done it myself but I believe the PROPER way to fill it is to fill it until it won't take anymore and drive the car (or if its on a lift just drive it a bit) and then fill again, then drive again, then try to fill it again until it won't take any more fluid.
I could be completely wrong but I know its not just fill it once and go.

Nice write up man and I am really sorry to hear about the Blue car. I couldn't imagine watching the car burn away after all the hard work, time, and money involved in the car. But Cars are replaceable, and your new black EVO looks great.
Looking forward to more updates! Keep your head up man, we all have sort of problems with these cars. But it all pays off in the end if you just stick too it

One of my friends had his car catch on fire due to electrical wiring due to his subs in his car -_-
