Wrapped my roof!

Iv'e always had some thought in wrapping my roof in carbon fiber to match my carbon fiber hood and lip. So a buddy of mine and I ordered a pretty large amount of it do his car and mine. We did his car first for trial and error. lol I kinda like how it turned out.

Here are some pics. Ive been told to spray it with clear coat to give it the shine and more realistic look.

Looks good. Hate to do it to you man, but you just added weight on a part specially made/created to shed weight. What was the condition of the roof prior?

You do realize how little that vinyl weighs, right?

Just a few scratches where it was noticeable up close.
Its some pretty heavy stuff im telling ya. My roof caved in with all the weight I added. I think my car feels slower..

Haters will hate, I think its nice. Yeah you added a few grams of weight. How about the people that put subs in there car? they're ricers too i bet. Or people that add carbon side covers.

I always wondered about what would happen if a runaway rock were to slice a hole into the vinyl and that would allow water to puddle, then eventually turn to rust.

If the vinyl were somehow cut. It wouldn't turn into a very small pocket? Just a thought. Not saying it could happen.

Seen a few restoration shows with Cadillacs where they have the vinyl roof. When the vinyl were removed it had a huge amount of rust. Only thing I can go off of.

OP doesn't have to worry about rust on the roof because his roof is aluminum.
