What to do about minor surface oxidation underbody?

Hey everyone, i just picked up an 05 evo 8 with 30k miles and the underbody has some slight oxidation and paint peeling from being driven in one winter and then sitting for over a year. There is no rot or rust holes or anything but i just pulled the engine and tranny and im building the car and im going to just do everything while i have it all out. What is the best thing to do about it? Should i just bring it to a body shop and have everything re-done or what is the best option? Just need some help thanks.

like under under body?

I'd sand/grind it, rust inhibitor, and then just recoat it with paint and underbody sealer.

if its under body....

All the suspension components on the evo are aluminum so rust isn't really a concern. You can however clean it up with engine degreaser, works well, or aluminum cleaners.

If you are concerned about it then I would reccomend that you jack the car up as high as possible, take a pressure washer to the factory (garbage) undercoating and remove as much as possible. Let it dry overnight. Then re-apply with a higher quality undercoating.

This is what I used and the results are fantastic.

Overall it took 2.5 days for me to clean and re-seal the underbody. Note that my car was previously used for rallycross and at least 12 hours was spent removing the massive accumulation of mud that was caked in everything.
