Other than that your car is nice and what motor and turbo setup do you have when you say you have a big turbo?
Because when your car is slammed an 8.5" wheel isnt going to be close to flush with your fenders. If you put 265 tires on this car to hold the 10" wide wheel, you will need to do a ton of fender work to get them to fit so people rune smaller tires for the "stretched" look.
A lot of things are involved in the "stanced" look: tire size, wheel size, wheels offset, coilovers or springs, camber kits, fender rolling and/or pulling, and alignment. For reference I have 8.75" wide wheels and my car has been lowered just over 2". Im nowhere near slammed and my wheels arent flush with my fenders so spacers and camber adjustment is needed for the right look. I also had to roll my fenders for this setup.

I love the idiots who think every car needs to be the same, have the same "quality" parts, same ol' Volks or Advans, etc and that everyone who owns an Evo, Ralliart, WRX, or STI is racing their cars. I myself drove through the horrible midwest winter last year in my car without getting stuck once, and YES, I AM LOWERED!!GET OVER IT!!
$100 says a stock evo does a faster lap time than his evo. obviously you do not understand how suspension works and what happens to your suspension geometry when you slam your car. read up a little on how the suspension on an evo works and come back to this thread to see how silly you sound

Everyone has their opinion its just stupid to used the phrase like "why do this to a race car" Just because is awd doesnt mean people arent gonna build their cars as show car instead of race cars.
Im not nearly as low as this Evo, but IMO the car looks good and as long as he isnt damaging his car as hes driving, there shouldnt be issues.

Appreciate it I am happy with it, I did not mean this thread to start a controversy over it, but that is the way it has gone.

Thanks Jay, though, They arent the worst tires ever to be put on a 10" wide wheel, they are not the widest I can get. If I put 265's I think I wouldnt have issues with the front if I ran my evo dave spacer kit, but the rears would certainly have some slight issues given the offsets of the wheels.

$100 says you're right, certainly would be interesting to see though. I have always wanted to see the differences in time between a car of my stature verses a stock car... my only +1 up I would likely have on a stock car is my acceleration given my motor and turbo setup.

I'm not trying to say my car is better than anyone elses. I understand the criticism I was gonna get from this thread. Just shows how heavy minded people are on the "evos are only meant to race/rally" vs those who put fancy wheels on and drive them day to day... neither side I am siding with. To be honest... I prefer to drive my bolt on 335xi over the evo

Now we are back to thinking every car in this forum races huh?! I built my car but I dont race. You sir are an idiot and if it were possible to actually bet you that $100 Id GLADLY take your money!
This thread was supposed to be about this guy showing off his hard earned money and work and all you contributed to this is ignorance. Appreciate a well built car for what it is or shut your mouth!! This car isnt riced out so this thread doesnt require your idiotic .02
I love these guys who think theyre God, hence TougeGod7, and know everything about the Evo!
Im not real sure Im being ignorant here. Im here giving the guy props and youre basically negative in everything you say.

I really hate the wheels - just overall ugly. I liked how your evo looked before these wheels by miles. I'm assuming these are not your final wheels?

I would buy you a few rounds of beers if you were close I certainly anticipated some hate, but wasnt sure on what level. Being told that my car is built wrong is not what I expect, as it is indeed my car, and others dont have to drive it (not that I let them anyway) but if you dont like it, thats fine. There are plenty of things that I dont like about it but I dont have endless pockets to fix them all at once so I make do. I appreciate the good words though Jay!!

Begging for mercy is an understatement lol. I honestly dont ever rip on the car, but it was dyno tuned and it ran out of fuel on the most aggressive one, so we detuned it and the injectors are at 97% duty cycle. New injectors are in line for the new FF setup. Injectors have always been the week link in this build

I go through wheels more than I go through shoes, so likely not at all my final wheels, I run wheels for maybe half a season ans swap to something new. I just wanted to give the RS a shot as they are my all time favorite wheels. I still have the Enkei's sitting in my basement. Going to powdercoat them and what not.

But this is certainly going to be on the car for at least this season... or so I say... until I see a set of wheels pop up that I 100% cant live without...

As I mentioned in here before, I was tired of cookie cutter cars, so I tried something different. When I have the NT03's on, I feel it is very cookie cutter. If that makes sense??

Thats one of the main reasons I wanted them! They look great, and are wicked light for a 18x9.5 wheel!!! I have nothing against people running them, because they are awesome haha. Hell CCW stole the design on their newest 3pc wheels

too bad you can't bet me, that would be easy $100 in my pocket

do you know what the word ignorant means? the minute someone posts their car on a forum they're going to get positive and negative feedback and when you modify an evo the way he did, its going to tend to have a good amount of negative feedback.

as far as the car being or not being riced out, that depends on what you think rice is. is a bunch of parts on a car serving no purpose but weighing the car down rice? is a suspension setup that is worse than stock rice? is a tire that is mounted on a wheel that is several inches too wide rice?

also, instead of calling someone names when they call you out for not knowing what you're talking about, try taking their advice and doing a little research on the topic. this doesn't mean re-watching the whole F&F movies. although very entertaining, they provide almost zero knowledge or actually make you less knowledgeable about how car works.

honestly, the best part about all this is that the OP doesn't care what other people have to say and some random person with a ralliart (that's you if you didn't figure that out) is getting all bent out of shape about comments on someone else's car who he doesn't even know.

If you post on the internet you are prepared for the good and the bad. If you arent the internet isn't for you.

Don't really like the wheel choice, they remind me of a vdub but I know they have a following. You are probably a bigger wheel ***** then me so I know you will switch it up soon enough.

I like watching progress and I've seen your car from the start.

Keep doing you. I've kinda fallen back from posting on this site. Its extremely maddening to be called a hater because you dont like something as well as the attitude that if you aren't modding a car for drag or track you are wasting it.

I mod my car for me, it kinda looks like a lot other cars on this site and to be honest for what I use it for its a complete waste.

But its my car so :P
