looking for some experienced opinions.
whats a fair price for the bumper, hood, fender fronts, and side mirrors, installed?
would the fender pieces interfere with my fender stripes? Not sure if I would want the vinyl trapped between the stoneguard and the paint unless the whole stripe was covered, cuz if it ever got messed up, i'd have to re-do the stoneguard for that panel.

I have the entire front end kit installed, bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, and if it wont show on my paint, it wont show on any color.
i am sponsored by modern image so it didnt cost me anything, but the retail is 600, anything more is too expensive.

what about the fender coverage? do you think the product would cover the stripes i have on my car? which brand of paint do you have? H.O.K., PPG, Dupont, BASF? What did the basecoat for your car run you?
how about more pics of your ride? i've been wondering about that color change paint on an Evo. I think cars with sharp edges look better with that paint than cars with smooth, bubbly curves.
what color do you when the car is between you and the light source?

500 is a really good deal installed, i would hop on it. it wont interfere with your stripes since it will only go about 3 inches in. draw an imaginary line from where the front bumper meets the fender up to the edge of the light and up and across the hood, thats all tha actually has the material on it.
My car was originally black, but you wouldnt know it now unless you look under the car, it is actually Sherwin-Williams, Base, color, sparkle, and clear. its a totally new type of color change, it is not like the other color changers like chromalusion or chamealeon. It is an almost 7-up looking liquid in the can, and it is when it is applied to a special basecoat and a special sparkle is added afterwards that it starts to change colors, but this is very dramatic, all the way from those colors to white and dark grey, since it really has no pigment of its own. it is totally prismatic.

hmmm... interesting on the color. i used to work at a paint store, so i've played with all the different brands. it seemed to me then that each mfr. would make 6-12 different "colors" - or starting points in the color-shift spectrum. they had ones that looked blue or cyan most of the time, red & green, etc... but none of them seemed to capture all of the color shifts in a balanced way. PPG seemed to me to have the cleanest look (Harlequin) but it had the highest price too.
is this product a single offering, whereas it's just one "color" that hits everything in the spectrum?
thanks for the pics and the stoneguard info. id really like to do it, considering the benefits, but im worried that more of the hood won't be protected. it's just 3" of the hood and fenders? does it cover the entire bumper?

well actually the sherwin williams is by far the most expensive, and it is much cleaner than the PPG, the SH was 500 a pint, so it is definetly the most expensive. and its "primary" colors are purple/cyan, since that is the color frequency it shifts at, kinda like hp/tq will cross at 5252 since they are relational to each other. but at night under white flouresacent light, the car is white, under yellowish light it is a dark lexus-like grey, in direct sunlight it is copper.
I would definitely reccomend getting the Stonguard professionally installed by an experienced person. I've seen good jobs and other mediocore ones that were self-installed or installed by professionals with little experience with the product. The protection is fairly good, saving you from most chips but not the more forceful ones. What ends up happening is that the 3M plastic takes the beating and over time you might start seeing dents or small tears in the plastic. I figure $500 for the Stonguard package plus maybe ~$200 for installation, one could just buy a new bumper (an aftermarket one even) with that money. I can understand it being more useful for those with custom paint jobs though.
