I have been looking into a couple of widebody kits for my 9 and so far I think my favorite is the Clinched Kit (picture below) and I am wondering if anyone else has any opinions on the fitment of the kit, appearance or just any in general feed back. Thanks!

I talked to an owner (the guy with the matte greenish evo) he runs 255/35/r18 with an offset of -41 and he runs +25 mm spacers in the rear.Originally Posted by MinusPrevious

As long as you don't mind your tires kicking stuff up onto your paint.
it almost looks like too wide. As in wheels that will sit right would tear up fender liners, etc.
If it's not a performance mod than none of that matters, though.

Just for curiosity, what tires specs do you think would make sense then? It seems like evo owners who have those fenders are running negative offset wheels. Do you know of any problems that would come up or be solved then?Originally Posted by kaj

The rivets make it look tacky. Maybe if the kit was molded to the body instead. Have you seen the Apr wide body? One of the cleanest, looks OEM but even wider. The evo from Tokyo Drift has one lol

WOW. That really is nice. I don't like Voltex, or any widebody, really.. too many weird lines, vents, etc. But that one is really attractive. I'd sport it, for sure.
Why not just have your fenders pulled and shaped?

I think you can run up to a 265/35-18 tire by having the inner lips 'shaved'.

From what I've read and have been told, reshaping the OEM body panels isn't so easy; it takes a skilled hand. It's a lot easier to mold an aftermarket piece to the OEM panels. Just what I'm told by the people around here that do body work. I'm sure others will have different views on it, though. But Heck, even I can install a Voltex or other stick/bolt-on/rivet body kit.
All that said, I'd rather have the stock pieces adjusted, as I prefer the stock lines. And a 275 is all I'd ever need to run.
As for the APR kit:
1. Holy crap it's expensive
2. I can only find it with an VIII front bumper cover.
