grounded below on the left of the console.. seems to work good.

The head unit is 60max x 4. 27watts rms. I cranked up the bass on the head unit, and cranked it... the internal dome light started to dim.. This doesnt seem right. Why might it be dimming?

If your car was off, but key turned to on, that's why your dome lights dimmed, your battery can't handle the load, if the car was running, and the lights still dimmed you need a cap. Best to run high audio with the car running, then the alternator cranking out juice, with it off, you're just killing the battery. Remember, the batterie's only and sole purpose is to just start the car.

OK. Car on, they still dim. It's only the internal lights. The headlights do not dim AT ALL. Are other people having this problem??

You still need a cap, takes a huge load off the alternator, for every 500 watts of power you need 1/2 Farad. So if you're pushing 1000watts, you should get a 1 farad cap.

this light dimming is from just the head unit. there is no amp/sub hooked up as of yet.

that's odd, did you use a harness adaptor, or did you just tap power off a 12v line? Are you sure you've got your 12v switched, and 12v constants hooked up right?

is your dash dim? if so check out your back right tail light, you might have blown a fuse. The stock radio has a dimmer wire to connect. If you connected it, or it tapped something you will blow the fuse.

I did not use the dimmer, the antenna, and one other one, I forget what it was (at work right now, dont have the book with me)

the dash is fine, everything works great. It's just when I crank up the head unit, the over head dome light that dims.
