Painting the headlights have no affect on brightness or how far the beams shine, since the reflective HID lens is not painted....

Solar does an awesome job and especially looks awesome on a black EVO...

but how can that be? if you paint the glass, that puts a barrier between the bulb and the outside. so the light has to be dimmer, cause its not as transparent as it was before. (i could be wrong)

The HID lights and fog lights still have reflective material. The only light not as bright is amber light housing that was painted black. I only have bulbs in them. The plan is to get amber light bulds for night.

ooooooo, u painted the inside housing, i thought you painted the exterior glass (like what you clean everyday w/ windshield cleaner) thats why i was like but if they outside is black wont it dim the lights.

Yeah if you do the plastic on the outside it will dim for sure.... But the guy that does ours takes the assembly apart and paints the inside plastic that is chrome black...looks just like the MR headlights..you wont lose any brightness if you do it this way...

I think the best way to do it is take that amber piece off and lose the bulb for the lights that are constantly on that way you only have the HID shining at night which looks awesome...

you will still have the amber turn light since those go on only when you turn...

thats the way i did mine...better then the smoked look of the lights with no amber lens...
