is this a good deal on an alarm system?

got quoted $725 for a Python 881 2 way system installed with keyless entry,
flashers, glass breakage sensor and a 2nd key remote (not lcd) plus $125 for remote trunk. I thought the remote trunk feature would be nice for me since I have a CF trunk w/o keyhole...
would you go for this or is it pricey? This Python has built in turbo timer but its always timed, no temp sensor.
What is your honest opinion?

I'm about to get this exact alarm system installed too. I was quoted by Cartoys a little under $700 for the whole install, plus battery backup and an extra horn siren inside the car. I'm forced to go with this top of the line system, seeing how my car's been f'd with twice already. If I were you, I'd get the battery backup too.

Another thing good about the Python 881 is that it's got tilt detection, so if someone slowly jacks your car up to steal your wheels or to slowly pull onto a flatbed truck, the alarm still blares like crazy. I'm gonna make my alarm so obnoxious that my neighbors will know its my car when it goes off. Supposedly the extra horn that I'm putting on the inside of the car will be so loud it'll make your eyes water, haha.

Audiovox systems are weak compared to directed's lineup. Also that is a rip off for the options you got..those are pretty much standard w/ any of directed's 2ways. To the original poster, try going w/ a clifford matrix rs3, should be around 550 installed, + options.

does this price include remote start? it doesn't specify in the post but it should for that price!

i don't know if it's just more expensive in Denver but i paid less than that for my compustar WSFM-AS which included remote start, 2-way paging, shock sensor, starter disable, turbo timer, trunk release, etc.

IMO, Compustar and DEI have the best alarm systems available.

I have an Airwolf 2-way paging alarm system. It's awesome!! $440 installed, but then again the only extra feature I had them hook up was the turbo timer. Has options for trunk pop (around $75 extra), remote start, etc... I simply chose not to have all those extra features hooked up.

To answer your question, that price sounds more or less right on. I'd actually expect to pay more like 650, but hey close enough...
