TOMMI MAIKEN pinstrips? anyone have em?

i am thinking of getting the tommi maiken pinstripes on my car. i was going to have a model rally car copied and change the white stripe to red (because my car is white) but is their anyplace that already has them made. also who do you have put them on so that they are perfect (i dont trust my eye). and for the heads up dont make any negative comments on them. the racing stripes is a symbol of the cars REAL roots rally racing so please no haters.

I know someone on the board got a set from Japan and said they didn't fit right because of the difference in body styles. So I'd make sure to get some made for your car specifially if you weren't thinking that already.

edit: after looking at your sig, are you actually thinking of getting them or just BSing?

Geez, at least get his name right . It's Tommi Makinen. As for the stripes, any decent vinyl place should be able to recreate them and change colours. I know of someone who could do it but they're in Houston and would need your car, so that's no use to you.

hey guys,

Im the main vinyl guy over on the uk's MLR (Mitsi Lancer register)

can do all this stuff in kit form with no cutting involved on the car as the stripe kits are all pre cut and shaped around handles etc.

Done many evos, i have an evo5 myself. Have no problems sending overseas

see link here.

You might be able to get them through a Mitsu dealer, my dealer had a red Evo for sale already striped up like that with the Tommy M. stripes. The sales manager told me it came in that way and he didn't order it, but thats the only one he ever got. Just may be worth a shot.

one thing to keep in mind is that the car that tommi mak drove was the evo 6, so they might not fit the 7 or 8 quite right, i'm sure it'll look fine if you take yor time and think it out though.
