I want a carbon fiber hood for my car but Im not sure on which one to get. Who makes the nicest hood for the EVO? I want a stock looking hood, not the ones with all the extra vents on them.

 

VIS makes a nice OE style hood.

 

Who on the east coast sells them, and who has the best price on them.

 

I was tring to do a group buy on ViS hoods but noone seemed to be interested. The price was sick (lower thatn ebay pricing!!)

 

My group buy was for the Lancer. I can do something for the Evo. I will see how much interest people show on the Evo hood so wait about a few days while I get pricing from ViS !!

 

VIS have nice quality but heavy than stock hood , if you really want a nice CF hood and lighter than stock but not crazy money I highly recommended FIBER IMAGE www.fiberimages.com , they have test all their product and the finish is unbelieveble beautiful , no wave on the surface no crook on the CF .

 

Are you SURE Vis is heavier than stock? I have lifted an Evo hood and lifted my ViS Lancer hood with vents and it seems the cf hood is a bit lighter than Evo stock.

 

VIs is just about the same.. carbon trix also has a nice hood. The thing was recently when speaking with a dealer, he couldnt tell the difference between the vis hood and the carbontrix hood. I came to find out that non of these hoods are even manufactured here.. IT seems like someone else in japan is manufacturing them and shipping them over here and we have the same hood going around with a bunch of differen brand names and prices on them

i got a vis hood around winston salem. it was a really good fit. if i can find out where they ordered it i'll get back to ya. i would show some pic but i don't know how to make them smaller so i can attach it

Joel I called Fizz about the hood and they told me they were out of stock. So I asked when they would have it back in stock and they said 4-6 weeks. Or special order 2+ weeks and more money. I am going to call Z1 to see if they have the VIS in stock. I want to have my hood before 9/11.

 

Go to www.z1auto.com . There is an oem carbon fiber hood on there that looks pretty good. If you are interested call them up and talk to Adam, he is a good guy and always does what he can to help out.

Anyone got any more prices/sugestions for a CF hood? My hood got damaged during the hurricane and i got a nice phat check from the ins company to fix everything. The VIS Hood that i keep seeing on ebay looks nice, anyone know an actual dealer that may have a better price on them?
