****Attn: Be aware of EBC knock-offs!****

Working with a member here and my EBC contacts on abnormal rotor and wear on a 2009 RA with "EBC Redstuff" and OEM rotors.

At this point, we believe that they are not true EBC pads. But knock offs! Pads where ordered from an unknown Amazon.com vendor.

19k on rotors and 4k on the pads.
Rotor wear:

Pad wear:

Notice what EBC pointed out - no chamfer, no center slot. Pad would have to be at the backing plate to have not center section.

Real EBC pads:

Make sure to by from reputable vendors and shops! Support our vendors too! Order from an official EBC retailer!

And the paint. I've subjected mine to race temps and the Yellows are still yellow. The fake one seems to have lost its color too.

Its unfortunate when fakes start happening.

I agree!

Did you know if they have the wording written on them like EBC has it (the V and O between the words)?

What do you mean by unknown Amazon.com seller, do you mean it was shipped and sold by Amazon? Also, is EBC a seller on Amazon, check link below?

Amazon can also front for others and warehouses. The person that got the short end on this purchase is working with Amazon. We will post here if they do something.

Man... I wish I would have waited. I bought the pads from Amazon a few days before this thread was posted. I guess I will check for the chamfer edges and the center slot when they arrive, before I return them. Keep us updated in what they do.

Sad enough fakes are there for a reason, For the people that would rather pay later then now.
Do you know if there was a price difference from this unknown vendor to the real deal?

Please post a picture here and a pic of the box. I'll get in touch with EBC if there is an issue.

Blues are a road course pad that can be street driven. I have a set on my work bench at home for my Mustang (weight is closer to Evos) for testing.

Good to know.

Fakes everywhere these days. There's probably a fake Ludikraut running around out there somewhere sporting mousenuts and a pinprick and driving a Daihatsu. Caveat Emptor!!!

Just received the pads from Amazon DP31538C and DP31210C. The front pads have 2 slots and the chamfer edges, and the rear pads have a center slot and a chamfer edges. They do come with the coating with the lettering Brake-In (check and circle with TM) on it. They do come with shims that has a sticky side. Are these real?
