^^^Hi R.Mutt

No real way to run a 275 tire on a 9.5 +27 w/out the rear pull & the bumper bolt relocate. The 275, the 9.5" & the +27 are aggressive specs for the stock EVO rear

Ran your no.s on calc which shows this setup overlays almost identical to mine (275/40/17 on a 9.5" +30)
For true fender clearance & full suspension articulation the rear pull is needed

If you want to fit the 275's, look at a deeper offset above the +35 range. Many run the RPF1's in the 17" range but w/the +38 offset (they look great. Understand moving to another wheel, especially a 17 may be out of the question)

Any other questions just let me know

Joe

275/35/18 vs 285/30/18

10 inch wheels, 38 offset

One's taller, the other wider, which one causes more problems on a stock body Evo?

Rolled, a little pull, bolt relocated, front wheel liners hacked up, maybe trailing arm chiseled a bit, etc. I'm guessing the 275/35 clears rear trailing arm better, but rubs more up front at full lock, while the 285/30 is the other way around?

Its very close. I ran your no.s & overlayed them to mine. For sure, the 285 is just a tad wider into the fender than the 275 & would require just a bit more of a rear fender pull

Since you have already done the bumper bolt, the 275/35 might be your best best, at least thats what I would choose

The 275 is a solid wide width plus the 35 series tire offers a bit more road protection

Enkei NT03+M 18x9.5 +27
245/35/18 Michelin PSS
10mm spacer F
Rolled fenders F+R, relocated bolt on F
Front Camber: -3 degrees
Rear Camber: -1.8 degrees
Front Toe: 0
Rear Toe: 1/16” In

My dilemma is I want to run a wider 18" tire for Autocross. My rubber is on the narrow side with a little stretch as you probably figured out already. I want to go 275 (Bridgestone RE71R) on a spare set of wheels. I really like the nt03 +27 so I'm contemplating the following but not sure how I stand:

buy a second set of nt03 same diameter, width and offset.
buy another 18x9.5 wheel (te37 replica) that I can get in +22 or +30 offset. (Like the +22 concave look and replicas are a little cheaper on the pocket right now...can't justify $2000+ wheels at the current exchange rate especially!)

I have no issue relocating rear bolt or doing evodave front fender mod BUT I do not want to modify my fender liners or pull the fenders.
What about just get 265/35/18 tyre
Fit better than 275/35/18 on 9.5" wheel

They bolted onto my Evo 8 without spacers 12 years ago.

Those same wheels were on the car tonight when I took her grocery shopping 2 hours ago.

As noted, they fit w/out front spacers. One of the best, EVO friendly wheels around

The go to tire is: 255/40/17. If your fenders have been worked, try running the Federal 265/40/17 (they run a size wide so be careful)

Hi MinusPrevious

I am looking into a couple wheel options and just wanted to get some input before I went ahead with anything.
I was thinking of going between Enkei RPF1 17x9 +35 or +22 offset. I know that with the +35 offset I will need to run at least a minimum of a 18mm spacer and that I can get away without having to use a spacer for the +22 offset. Question is which will cause the wheel to stick out more and am I going to run into any issues in the rear with the +22. Plan on running 255/40/17 tires. Car is lowered on coilovers and I'm not too keen on doing fender work.
The other option I was looking into was Gram Lights 57dr 17x9 +38 with the same tire setup. Will these clear the brembos and will there be any fender work that needs to be done?

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance!

Hello

The +22 will have more poke than the +35 but will be very tough to fit the rear w/out some serious body work

Looks like your best bet is to use the +35 in the rear which will need a rear fender roll at the minimum. The 18mm spacer up front will leave at a +17 up front. It will work but the front fender spacer kit may be needed.

Regarding the +38 Gram Lights, the offset matches the stock offset so that will be your best fit in the rear. Not sure about over the Brembo fitment. Every wheel, due to spoke design, is different so dont know about that fitup

Like your pick of tire. 255/40 is the go-to wide tire for that 17" setup

Whats your thought of running 265/40/17 tires on the 17x9 +35 RPF1s? Is that too much tire and leading to even more fender work?

Also did some more research into the Gram Lights 57DR and the 17x9 +38 will clear front Brembos for those interested in running that setup.

For sure you can run the 265/40. Its the max size for a 9" wide. And yes it will require more rear fender attention. Im currently running the Federal EVO 595 265/40/17 but be careful bcuz they run a full size wide

I ran your no.s on the calculator & it shows that maybe a tight rear fender roll may get you there vs pulling & relocating the bumper bolt. The 9 wide wheel & the +35 are helping w/this fit

Rota SVN 18x10 +30 with 265/35/18 tires. What size spacer in the front to clear brembos?

Good question. Rotas are at times very EVO friendly & this may likely clear w/out any spacers. But, predicting spacer size cant be done due to spoke design

Ill do a search for you but I doubt many of us have run this. I run a few wheels, but one of them is the Rota P45R 17x9.5 +30 & fits over the Brembos w/out spacers

EDIT: Found it! See post no. 4 here:
