Urgent Pls! Tein Flex
Urgent Pls! Tein Flex
I have had my tein flex on my Evo 8 for about 1 month now. But only today, i found out it's only meant to have 0-16 dampening settings. However, i have noticed that the knob to change the dampening clicks 26 times. I have been driving around at both extreme settings!!!
I don't understand... where is 0 and where is 16??
am i not suppose to go to the extremes? have i screwed up my suspensions but driving at the extremes? i have it at the softest setting at the moment!
ARGH HELP!!
Thanks!

Can any damage be done to coilover from overclicking it?? Also which is the right way to get it back to the factory setting (stiffest setting)??

Step 1. use the included hex wrench to turn the adjustment knob on top of the piston rod to the hardest setting (full clockwise)
Step 2. From the full clockwise position, turn the adjustment knob counterclockwise until the "standard values" are reached. The standard values for the front and rear are 8 clicks from the hardest setting.
DO NOT turn the knob past the last position (16). Turning the knob past the its limit will result in damage to the damper
If the knob comes to a stop at a half way point, then turn back slightly until it clicks into place.
USE ONLY LEVELS 1-16. Exceeding level 16 may damage the damper.
The 32-way adjustment is only available via the use of the EDFC. So, if you are not running the EDFC and you have turned past the softest setting, level 16 (16 clicks), then chances are you have ruined your dampers. You will want to call TEIN to ask them how you can tell if the dampers are ruined or not.
Hope this helps.

I am a current TEIN Flex owner, and for my purposes (mainly street driving, with the occassional track) I think they an excellent option. But, that is just my opinion. And as you know opinions are like _______, everybodys got one
EVO7RACER - as per my previous post, you will want to contact TEIN to find out exactly if the dampers are damaged. I have riden on blown shocks before and know when a shock is damaged. However, for someone who just put in the FLEX's he/she may not know the difference. Hence, is why the manufacturer should be contacted.
