Street pad recommendations
I'm looking for some agressive high temp street pads. Not sure what choices I have for the evo that will fit my range.
Cold stopping power needs to remain high.
Needs to have a high maximum operating temperature.
Low to no noise
Low to moderate dusting (I can deal with up to moderate dusting, but prefer no to low dusting)
Good to excellent modulation
Fairly firm pedal feel
Fairly high coefficient of friction.
Basically the equivelant of the Axxis Ultimates or better, which they don't make for the front evo's.
The pads are for the street / autox with some very light track usage (hence the high maximum operating temperature)

Ferodo DS2500's. I have had both front and rears for almost about 8 months. They work great in all conditions. They take a little heat to get some bite in the wet but, that is the only thing I've noticed that is undesirable. They still dust a little more if you're really using them but, you're going to have that with most pads.
So doing some more research, looks like I want a MOT of around 1000 deg F
Hawk HPS has a MOT of only 750 deg F, so that's out.
I hear the ferodo DS2500's dust orange, so that's out.
Anybody else have any comments on pads?

Project Mu NS pad work great for the street. I'm currently running them with my Volks and I hardly EVER have to wipe them down. THe dust is almost non existant and they don't make any noise whatsoever.
I am still searching as well. I am dissapointed with the Porterfield RS4's I have. Noisy when get hot and not too much improvement over stock. I hear SBS are good but have yet to test.

Have had them on the front & back for a few month, great pads.
As for the stiffer pedal feel you want you'll probably have to upgrade your brake lines to ss braided ones unless your talking about the brake pad actually fading

I don't like the lack of cold bite the 2500's provide. And the colder it gets outside the less they bite. But, they are OK with the dust and with proper anti-squeel they're pretty quiet. They're expensive though. Then again, price wasn't one of your requirements.
I've used the PF R4S on another car and I thought the cold bite REALLY sucked. Since cold bite is your main concern I would avoid those.
Do you have any problems with doing a seperate dedicate track pad compound? For autox, any street pad will do. Which then I would recommend going with a Hawk HPS and one of the many track compound pads available.

Endless SSSS has a MOT of 932, as well as Axxis Ultimates. I also hear the Endless SSSS produces low amounts of dust. But I haven't heard of how well the Endless SSSS pads stop when cold.
Haven't found any numbers regarding the DS2500's yet, and am hearing conflicting stories on their cold stopping power. I'm also hearing conflicting stories on orange dust from the DS2500's.

Ferodo DS2500 is a club race pad that can be used on the street and for light track use. This compound produces some noise on the street, but retains good cold friction, and has an MOT of around 1,000 degrees F. It also has 35% less compressibility than competitive products, giving it very good pedal feel and modulation characteristics. DS2500 has an average friction level of approximately (0.50) which remains constant at any speed, and at any temperature up to 1,000° F.

As for the conflicting reports of them dusting orange. That is BS. I would be willing to bet someone washed their car or drove it in the rain, the rotors got a layer of rust on them and that dusted off onto their wheels after they used the brake the first time,which they then thought was brake dust.
The cold bite is fine. It is only when they are wet and you haven't used them for a while they feel a little wooden. I think you would be fine with these pads. However, if you don't install them correctly they will squeak like a pig fighting for it's life but, all performance pads will do that if they aren't installed properly.

I have never heard of Orange dust from ferodos. And we sell quite a bit of them. Rust seems like the most logical explanation for the orange dust. We are running them on the evo here. Like said before cold bite is not great but I have used them here in UT the past couple weeks(snowing and below 32 degrees outside) It takes about 3-5 low speed stops for them to get their hard bite back but I would say the bite while cold compares to the axxis pads when semi-warm.
It think we have the best price out there for the Ferodos but I could be wrong.
