brake question
brake question
Just installed my new slotted rotors from tirerack with the WORKS Endless pads. Installation was a breeze, but i did notice that after the brakes were installed it seems as if I have to push the brake pedal down further to have the same bite as before. Is it possible I got some air in the brake lines even though I never touched the brake lines? I did notice that one time I was pushing the piston in and I heard some brake fluid come out of the reservoir. Could that have caused air to somehow get in the system? I can sit in the car and pump the brakes and it gets firm quickly, but usually the 1st pump when i'm driving just seems softer than it used to feel. But while I'm braking and I pump the brake a few times it firms up to the way it should feel. Air in the line?
BTW... the car now has no steering wheel vibration like it did before!
Also the slotted rotors behind the front wheels look sweet.
Also to note, when I did the brake installation today there seemed to be plenty of pad left... I would say about 1/2 with 23.5k miles on the car. I have concluded that the factory rotors just suck and they easily warp. Hope the new slotted ones don't give me the same problem.

Try changing your lines to braided stainless. It can firm up your pedal feel and give you a more direct feeling of connecton to your brakes.
While doing the install of the lines, I would recommend changing the fluid to something with a higher boiling point like Motoul fluid.
