To Drop or not to drop...

i received my h techs last week, but am waiting new wheels, and tires (ordered) to put them on. i picked the h-techs because the drip is just a tad over an inch in the front, and only about 1/3 of an inch in the back. i will post pics when i get them on. in the next couple weeks hopefully. good luck, as it is a tough decision. the teins are so inexpensive though it is worth it to try most likely. i wouldve much rather had coilovers, but we will see. eventually.

well since we are both from boston we both know how bad the roads are... i also use my evo for daily driving... but come on the stock springs look like crap! if u have the money get the tein RA coilovers or the flex.. Im gonna get the flex soon... well theres my 2cents
If you drop it you will be changing the suspension geometry and the weight distribution. It will look cool but be loose if pushed to limits, unless you add weight to the rear, and change all of you suspension angles (lots of work).
But hey, it's your car. Do what makes you happy.

drop it, don't waste your time on springs.
A good set of coilovers is the way to go...how could to beat the adjustability? Besides the coilovers tend to have springs matched for its damper. Regular springs can get pretty close i believe...but not as close. I read that turn in response with regular springs can leave people disapointed. If you want better than stock go coilovers.....I didn;t want to take the risk of hurting my cars handling so went the RRE tuned JIC coilover route...all i have to say is wow.
i got my Tanabe springs for $139, it was a special on Revhighonline.com, i couldn't resist. Ride is very similar to stock and drop is perfect, 1.5 front, 1.0 rear. Maybe not the best name in springs out there, but (A) If you're buying springs, chances are you're just going for looks (performance is a bit better lowered), and (B) Don't spend crazy money on springs for the name and save for coilovers.
The install is a piece of cake as well, so about 150 to my door and into my car, can't beat that.

If there is a spring or coilover manufacturer that has a full drop kit with different lowers and control arms, that has done the modifications for weight transfer, roll centers, etc., and all the other things that Mitsu has studied to make this thing handle the way it does, I would change it in a heartbeat.
I say drop it! The stock ride height looks awful!
I had the Tanabe springs on and it rode really good, I just changed them out for the Teins, I wanted the front lower and the Teins have a more aggressive drop.
I will sell the used Tanabe's for $60 plus shipping! PM me!
