i just ordered falken ziex from www.edgeracing.com they were a good deal, and i was looking for something to run that will get me through the rain/light snow/light ice. then to get another pair for summer/track/autocross stuff. they had a good treadware, and pretty good price, and good service. good luck

If you dont have to worry about heavy snow get the toyo t1-s. If you want all- season get the Toyo proxes 4 . I live in upstate NY where it snows bad. So far the T1-S is holding up nicely.

You can't beat the Advans, But I understand they can be a bit pricey.

How about a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's? They've got very good marks on Tire Rack, and it seems very good in the rain, especially for the Bay area. Take a look at them and see what you think.

Too general of a question What type of tire do you want? What do you want the tire to do for you? Summer performance, do any competition or auto-xing etc etc. Need a bit more detail before we can give a specific recommendation.

Cool. How much are you willing to spend on a set?

I've tried the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's as well - EXCELLENT tires - especially in the wet!
I think its up there with the Bridgestone s03

Both are expensive - I've since switched to Kumho MX's - just as good, 1/2 the price.
PS: I DRIVE my car.

I've been shopping around for tires for a while myself. I'd like something less expensive than the Advans, and hopefully quieter as well. Makes me wish there was a universal rating system that measured the overall characteristics of each tire.

Hmm, very interesting Ron. I've been thinking of getting a set of Kumho MX's, but I'm not sure about them vs the GS-D3's. The difference in price is what kinda makes me wonder what the hell. Price isn't the deal with the GS-D3's as I know that they have excellent tire wear. Ron, how long did your set last for?
