Exclamation Qn rgd Cusco Zero2R and Zero2

Hi all. Am looking to get a set of coilovers, am currently looking at the Cusco kits. Here are a few qns which I have (have tried to search already! ), hope you guys, esp. EVO6RSS can help me here...

1) Other than the inverted monotube of the Zero2R cf. to normal twin tubes of the Zero2, what differences in construction are there?

2) Other than longetivity (possibly?) of the 2R, what other advantages does it offer?

3) Do they both come with front camber-adj pillow mount?

4) Also, I've heard seperately from 2 of my Z2R friends who complain that there ar squeeking noises; did you guys experience this? If so, any way to alleviate it?

5) Lastly, given the same adjustments for both kits (5-way adj right?), say... at the middle - 3 for both f&r, is the ride harder on the Z2R than Z2?

Was looking at Ohlins, but too $ and heard the Hipermax Pro/II are prone to knocking sounds.

Bearing in mind, I'm quite a spirited driver who tracks like 3-5 times in a year, and I have the 25mm/23mm Cusco ARB already installed. Thanks all!

Only real problem I have with CUSCO is their small range of adjustments.

I have a set of Cusco Zero 2R's that I am getting rid of because I am selling my EVO. They have around 800 miles on them. PM me if you are interested.

small adjustment range (in terms of 5 ways) - yes, on paper, seems like "not so hot". But unlike other units that are 16 way, 30 way, etc, each step in the 5 actually creates a noticeable change. So you can more quickly dial in the proper dampening level rather than toying around with "adjustment points" that have no real effect on things.

to answer your questions:

1. nope

2. I would doubt the 2R would last any longer or shorter than the Zero2 - technically the inverted design will dissipate heat in the fluid better and is a tad quicker to react to changes, but for all practical purposes, this difference is negliable.

3. They are both offered with either reinforced rubber upper mounts (uses a stiff rubber compound) without camber adjustment, or pillowball front/rear mounts (camber adjustable on front)

4. It is all in the install and setup - we have done several Evo's with the 2 and 2R's and they are among the quiestest coilovers out there.

5. Slightly, but not significantly

Cusco does offer rebuilding except for on a competition level basis, and this is done in Japan - you simply replace the damper mechanism itself - you do not have to buy a whole new coilover per side

very hard to answer as it is totally dependant on how you treat them and the conditions they are subject to. That being said we have never, in 4 years of selling Cusco, had to replace a damper or rebuild a set
