Best brake for the buck?

Needing new brake pads rather soon.

Just need an everyday, agressive NON-track pad. Nothing major this time as the car will remain mostly stock for a bit, see little road race/auto-x if any, and maybe a day or two at the drag strip.

Other then that, for now street performance is most important, i/e low noise, little dust, and good initial cold/moderate temp grip. Cost is a factor as I'd like to get my exhaust, MBC, gauges, clutch and things also.

EBC "Green Stuff"?
Hawk pads?
Carbotech?
something else?

Thanks for any and all replies.

Mort.

i just replaced my stockers with hawk hps from lancershop and they seem to be working out well...much less brake dust. as an example, in a weeks time i have the amount the stockers put on in 30 minutes after washing.

Best bang for the buck would be Project Mu type NS pads. Minimal brake dust and stock feel. If you use them though, only put on the metal shim. If both shims are used the brake pedal will feel squishy.

Hawks (rear brakes mainly) squeaked like a bi-ch on my '05 RS. They dusted like the stockers too unlike what everyone on here says. I took them off after a week and sold them.

No squeals here...just make sure you use the factory shims off of the oem brake pads.

Here is an awesome writeup that might answer any questions.
