Yes the write ups do look good. A friend of mine picked up a set and seems
to be happy with them so far. They're a little up there in price.
When it comes to tires it's not worth skimping though.

I'm wondering how stiff the sidewalls really are on the stock Yokohama's
VERY stiff. Have you ever got a flat with the stock Advan? It still looks inflated when all the air is out. The sidewall feels similar to (based on steering response and ride) to my Hoosiers. To get a better tire that is also streetable you'd probably have to go with an r-compound such as RA1 or A032R. I'm sure the new 615 Falken is pretty good but I have no experience with it.

That's good to know about stiff sidewall on the stockers.

I haven't had experience with the Azenis either, those with experience
say they're are good, but heavy. From what I understand they are not
available in 235's. ( not sure )

Still wondering about optimum tire pressure for the stockers.

Stock Advans are the best definetly in the dry
After all Yokohama did make this tire just for the Evo. Unsure about all this talk about them not gripping as good when heated up I have yet to experience this problem with myself on my 3rd set.

I had good luck using my stock Advans autox'ing even when they got hot. They seemed just fine to me when heated up. Of course you have to let out air to keep the same pressure as it gets hotter. I think I ran something like a 43fr 38r autox'ing. Those #'s might be off a little since it has been about year and a half since I used Advans for autox'ing. They do have pointers on the sidewall. You want just enough roll over to touch the pointer. Put some white shoe polish dabs on those areas to easily see where you're rolling over to and adjust air pressure accordingly

Hey thanks for the insight, I'll get a better gauge and keep a sharper eye on
my tire pressures.

I meant on a track, it's hard to get your tires as hot as I'm talking about on an auto-x course when you don't spend more than a minute or so actually driving.
