Well I know a 255 is perfect for a 9" rim, so don't see why a 255 slick wouldn't work.

245 is a perfect fit for a 9" rim. I have 9x16 on my 911, stock tire is 245/45.

Don't go wider than 255, you'll have excessive sidewall flex that you may not be able to overcome with extra tire pressure

so 245/45/17 is a good size for my 17x9 fno1r-c i want to get the max performance out of my tires i know wider is better to a certain extent.

u can run 275/40/17 V710 on yr 9" wheel, but u will need to run huge negative camber (more than -3), 10+mm spacers and rolled fender for the front, not sure about 275 V710 on the rear though, but 275/40/17 victoracer fit the rear with just rolled R/Fender. hope this help

i currently run 255/40/17 victoracer -3.6F/-1.5R camber on 9" wheel have no problem, but half of wear on this tires were running less negative camber (max out stock suspenion to -1.6F/-0.8R), so these tires wore much faster than what they suppose to, same like you, i don't wanna roll my fenders, so i just ordered a set of 245/45 V710, and i sure have NP for clearance, but i still suggest you run more negtive camber to save your tires.

and i want to try a slick tire but like i said kumho and hoosier dont have that size
what about 255/45 is that to tall , if it is i may just go with 245/45

oh yeah these tires wont be used daily i have my stock rims with all seasons

as the money and the fender issue, i went with 245/45 V710, i think it's better than 255/40 victoracer as the width spec is not much diff. and u sure got much better performance

I recommand Kumho Victoracer and Toyo RA1 which offers the size you want (255/40/17). I don't know who makes 255 45 17 but they are too tall anyway. if you want to run 710 or hoosiers, you can run 245 45 17. They are just as wide as the victor or toyo 255 but a bit taller. Be warn that they wear out FAST!
BTW, all the above tires are R compounds DOT tires. NOT slicks.
