Melting Green Stuff pads?

Anyone else had an issue with their EBC Green Stuff pads pretty much melting on the edges after a track day? Mine have gone black, and deformed on the edges. They feel a little funny now - not dangerous, just not right.

thats what happens when you take a street pad and use it at the track....my guess, its probably time for a new set because you probably just coughed up your EBC's....EBC's ***edit*** (EBC greenstuff I meant, not EBC's in general), in my opinion are not good at all, although I've only used them on eclipses and never my evo...If you want EBC pads for the street/track, you need to at least step up to Yellows, or even Reds if you really go all out on a track day and not simply go autocrossing....

I had a big problem with the green stuff pads on my eclipse. The pad shredded and completely seperated from the metal plate and fell off into pieces. Scary as hell. I called them and told them what happened and they explained they had a bad batch. I was told I would have a new set sent to me and a couple months went by without anything. Eventually I kept calling and they finally sent the new pads.

The pads are simply overheating and chunking away.
To be honest, I have had great luck with the stock pads, provided I have adequate venting. However, without venting, and really pushing the car to the 101%, they start to shred too.

I have run better pads, but they destroy the rotors, and I am not ready to replace them just yet.

I've never had a good experience with any EBC automotive pad. Their bike compounds are good, but even on light cars with oversized brake combos, the EBC pads just don't hold up.

im using ds2500 ferodo pads front and rear ...

ive tried these green , red pads i think they aint worth the money ...

ive allways stuck with the normal stock ferodo disc , and using the

ds2500's gives a better, harder pedal , with very little fade ... untill the pad starts to really run down ....

the down side of these pads are , that unless you run em in properley

they squeal like pigs ....

ive no problem's so far ...

Not a pad designed for track use, that's why they couldn't handle it. The Redstuff would work better there. EBC's have a tendency to be very very soft once they heat up. Never really liked them much myself. Have always ran Hawks with no problems

EBC started off as a manufacturer of motorbike pads...and it shows. Everyone who uses them on a street car seems to hate them. The only exceptions are some folks (mostly in the UK) who run superlight cars, like Caterhams/Westfields and some smaller Lotuses. The combination of heavyweight car, track use, and EBC GreenStuff is doomed to fail.

Thats what I was trying to get at above. While not as light at a 7-variant, my 1900lb CRX with GSR brakes destroyed both reds and greens.
