hawk hps pads
i just bought a set for the front and back got new rotors as well (stock ones) ok so we put them in ok fine. after 200miles im ready to really get on the pads now. so this is whats wrong i dont care what the box states i dont care what vendors say and most shops say these pads suck stock pads are way better i almost carshed my car 12 times if it wrent for the side space on the roads my evo would have been gone just like i was told before thats why oem stuff is so expensive because they work.
you know what i dont care what people say this is what i think about them i dont know for the people who have them and have no problem well i guess u dont brake tha same way i do because the pads where put in the right way everything was done by the book and they still suck im about to rip them off and pay $673 out the door for stock ones thats how bad theses suck.
hey any hawk people looking at this man better go back to the drawing board i dont see the 20-30% better stoping power then over stock. i guess u get what u pay for.
what this all comes down to people that street race or do track or auto crossing or just want to have fun on the street and want to see how your car does these pads are not for u.
thank u for reading i hope someone reads this before they make there next choice on upgradeing there pads

dont know much about hawk yet....but do they require high temp for the coef of friction to jump up?? ive driven in cars that have taken a good amount of heat to bite....while cold, they suck bad and dont stop very well in city traffic conditions (well not as good as stock)
no experience here with Hawks HPS either.
I switched from stock pads to Ferodo DS2500 and found them really good. I'm now on Project Mu Titan Ki and they feel way better than the DS2500, which i thought were comparable to the OEM pads. The only downside of the Titan Ki is that it takes a bit to warm up...nothing that a slight tap on the brake can't solve, but the bite from these pads is totally unreal.

I bought some Titan Kai pads and returned them the next day. I heard they stop really well (with some noise) from several people, but they will eat your rotors up.
I've personally found the Ferodo DS2500 pads to be great. But you might want to step it up to some DS3000 for a track day. From now on Ferodo and only Ferodo pads on my car.

The HPS are street pads and the HP+ are for track performance. HP+ are the ones that require heat to have better braking ability and will often times cause squeeling when not warmed up.
Sorry to hear they are not working out for you. I switched to the HPS after my stock pads were toast and havn't had a problem with them except for the super load squeeling I get from the rears when applying the brakes after running at high speeds. I havn't really noticed a difference in performance compared to the stock pads, but I think that is something you have to measure after pounding them out through multiple turns or actually measuring a 60-0mph distance.
You didn't happen to get any of that high temp silicone on the rotors did you?

You want street pads, which the Hawk HPS pad are, to perfom like track pads. Just doesn't make sense, You bought the wrong pads and you are blaming who? you needed to get the HP+ pads.
becasue of the grip when at the right temp they will just chew them apart i know because my budy went though 4 sets already that same setup then he just bought the endless 6 piston kit and didnt have any problems
