springs!
i know your all gunna say "search the forums first dumbass" but i have been searching the forums, but i have short time. i get to a tech school(uti) and my teacher said we can do the springs on my car, he used to autocross so i trust he can set my suspension up real well
anyways my question is whats the best spring that won't mess up my handling and still rides like stock? also will this void my warranty? i've heard hotchkis and tanabe are good, but i dont wanna go off of 1 or 2 peoples word, because im not paying money to mess my car up. sorry if this is a repeat topic, but i dont have much time, thanx!

You should understand that all aftermarket springs made to lower your vehicle are going to be stiffer then stock. Also, the lower you go with ride height on the stock struts the stiffer the spring should be to avoid bottoming out.
We like Swift Springs on EVO's. Unfortunately you will probably not find many people using them as they are not as well known in the US as they are in Japan and Europe. They are a very JDM company.
i have swift springs as well. but i think if i were getting springs again, i'd go with hotchkis. the spring rate on those in the front are actually softer than stock. my ride is too stiff in the front and my car bounces too much, giving me less than optimum handling. i think going a little softer in the front would be nice.
I used to have Hotchkis on my car for a few months. I kept hearing people saying springs are not the way to go. I didnt believe that and still bought springs cause I couldnt afford coilovers at that time and wanted my car to look lowered. I regret getting the springs, labor, install and alignment just wasnt worth it. With the total money that was spent it just wasnt worth it cause after about 2 months the springs got worse and worse. To be honest unless you know you will never fork out the money for coilovers then you have no choice but to get springs..... I still wouldnt recommend them and you can learn the hard way like me and waste money down the drain. You be better off just keeping your stock springs...at least your car will handle the same and save money. The stock shocks were made for the stock springs period. You get what you pay...and for 150 bucks you think your car will handle better? If they were so good then why do people pay 2k for coilovers. SAVE YOUR MONEY and get coilovers...dont let cheap springs ruin the handling of car. The Evo deserves better
this is just based on my experience. couple of tuner guys heard I was getting springs and they all laughed and told me it dont do it. I should of listened to them
Im sure you will hear some satisfied people who used springs but thats maybe because they never tried coilovers yet. Once you get coilovers you wont go back...gauranteed.
I usually dont type this much but im stuck at parents house baby sitting my brothers kids
Dont say I didnt warn you...
If your still unsure then ask some people on this forum or start a thread and see how many people who have gone from springs to coilovers and see what they have to say.
