A046 decreasing production
A046's are stickier than RT-615's size-per-size, I think.
RA-1's are stickier than both, though there are some disadvantages of running a race-compound tire on the street. They will lose their wet performance very quickly as the tread gets below 4/32nds and they will throw rocks all over.

I think the stockers are by far the best street tire for the Evo. No other tire can match all ofits qualities. This has been discussed in many threads and I believe the consensus is that the A046 is still the best street tire for the Evo as far as performance is concerned.

The STi's narrower RE070 has a longer treadlife than the Evo's A046. However, the A046 is a much grippier tire. It is wider, but it is also made of a softer compound. I want to get a set of Advans to run on my STi next. I think that many comparo's would come out differently if the STi came on the same great tires the Evo comes with. Hey, there's a reason the Advan costs $250 per tire on TireRack.
