Heres what my plan is. Getting some 18x8's or 9's aint sure yet. Car has been lowered with Tein S-tech springs not sure on drop i guess about 2in or a half. Im running 235/45's right now and they are very close to the fenders. With these 18's am i going to have to run a 225/45? or even smaller like a 215/45?

Fender clearance depends on what offset the new wheels are.

 

I think they are a 35mm offset

 

if they're 35 you can run 255 even for 9" wide wheel

 

255's on 18's is gonna be tight, I would suggest 245 as the biggest IMO on 9

I've ran 255's on a 17x8.5 35mm offset, need to roll my fenders. Depends on the tire though. 245's will clear no problem.

 

Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance is the tire i want to run. They make it from 225 to a 245

 

I'm running 255/40/18's on an 18x8.5 wheel with +35 offset. Get a little rubbing due to negative camber up front. Probably would have been ok, had I ordered the right size tire! (255/35/18).

So i could still run a 235/45 series tire with 18's with a good bit of a drop?

 

255 40 on 18s is too big no matter what... i mean it's not TOO big but it's not an ideal size... you increase the overall diameter.

 

i'd stick w/ 245's. you don't want to go too thin, at least thinner than the stock width.

 

as you go wider the shock of having a smaller profile is less because the width of the tire takes up a lot of the road shocks, like it's a bigger trampoline surface if you know what i mean.

crap i misunderstood that post... the thing is if you have a larger profile on a thinner tire you can run stretched, which allows you more "slam" room.
