New tire question

Would there be any difference between the stock size advans ie. 235/45/17 compared to 245/40/17? Is the height different? Or is the recommendation to stay with stock size. I do 1/4 and track...

go google tire diameter calculator that will tell you everything you need to know about height etc differences. that is if you can do some math... after you punch in the values

Overall diameter of the stock tire is 25.3", a 245/40-17 is 24.7" Many upgrade to the 245/40-17 size with no problems.

one more thing to note: you have to remember that with the 245/40-17 (which is slightly a smaller diamter tire) when your speedometer reads 60mph, you're actually going 58.6mph.

I did the google search and found the tool (rather quickly I might add). That works, it looks like I could even go to the 245/45/17. A little more meat and about the same size.
