Squishing noises coming from coilovers. Normal?

I just installed a set of Tein Flex coilovers on my car...they were used, w/ about 3k miles on them.

I noticed that at every bump when the shock compresses/uncompresses, I hear a squishing sound akin to that when you're pumping up a supersoaker?? That's the closest thing I can think of anyway.

Is this noise normal?

I had teins on my Z and they didnt do that ... but the coilovers (Bridgestone NPG) I have on my EVO DO MAKE the noise your talking about. I talked to my friend who I got them from and he said its normal (mainly happens when going up driveway lips and speed bumps, but you dont really hear it at high speeds right?)

Those sounds are typical on some of the Tein products.

No the car is far too noisy to hear them at high speeds. But at <40mph or so, I can hear them with the windows down on bumps and <20 I can hear them with the windows up.

Mine Zeals squish too, I think this is normal. As long as they don't clunk you are ok. You also get a lot more tire rumble with metal pillowball topmounts. You can hear everything in an RS.

I get this sound in my bone stock '05 VIII. Actually this is the reason I came to this suspension forum. My front suspension sounds fine, I have no problems. But I hear a pretty loud "squishing" sound coming from my rear suspension. When I go over speed bumps it's very obvious. I don't remember hearing it when I first got the car (I only have about 7k miles on it). It might be my imagination, but I swear I'm hearing more on the right side (but this might only be because of my listening position in the driver's seat).

Has anybody heard this with stock suspension? Should I have it checked out?

Yeah I couldn't believe how much more tire noise I could hear up front after the install...this car keeps getting noisier and noisier and less comfortable for any long distances
