When I bought my evo i had THE SAME PROBLEM. I had to buy new rotors. Just put them on last week and not squeal . Its expensive but if you hate the sound as much as i do, you'll do it. good luck

That was my next thought ... My rotors are in good shape.. My other pads had low miles on them so that is why I thought it was the pads making noise. Ugh so aggravating..

I had a pretty good squeal with mine as well. When I replaced the pads I put silver anti-seize on the shims (between the shims and pads) and the squeal has been gone since. Maybe try that before dropping the coin on new rotors.

Hmm interesting. Just regular ole anti Seize? I will try that.. Do you guys have a similar set up? I have the Hawk pad with the plate on it, rubberish brembo shim, Metal shim plate..

yep, regular anti seize is just like the graphite brake paste. If you can find copper brake paste it works a little better than the graphite. I used that on my brakes with stoptech pads and I never get any squealing noise. I didnt even reuse the stock shims.

I will try the Anti Seize see if that does anything.. I heard that the shims help reduce the brake squeal...

My front ones squealed only when braking at 15mph or less. So put some copper anti seize on and they went away..Then the back ones start squealing. Threw new rotors on the back with some new pads and squeal was gone for awhile. When I use the brakes for the first time of the day they squeal. But one good 40mph brake check seems to fix that and they are good for the rest of the day. I think it may be the cold weather in the morning that causes mine. New rotors are probably a good investment. Also I still use the stock shims.

edit : I see you are from PA so the cold weather might be a contributing factor. I know it is for mine first thing in the morning.

Thanks.. Pretty sure its not weather related... They did this all summer on my other pads.. Didn't use stock shims on the other pads using them on the Hawk pads.. So IDK. Will try the Anti Seize and also do some more hard stops..

are those shims attached to the pads? isee the oem shims, but it looks like there are other shims too.

dont just use any old anti sieze....get something that has nickel in it or can handle higher temps.

i applied anti seize between the pads & shims, where the shim meets the pistons, on the shims that lives on top of the pads & under the pins + where the leading / trailing portion of the pads sit / register in the calipers.

In the picture the shim with the Arrow on it was on the other pads I had and the other shim is that ruberish material and says brembo on them. So not sure what is OEM and what isn't.. When I got the car the pads were shot. Don't think they were OEM then I went with Ferodos and thought they were the problem. So now I am not sure how to put them back.. I have the pad, then Brembo shim, then shim with arrow.. Is that incorrect?

Just set up the pad w/Disc Brake Quiet on the back. Place shim w/arrow facing toword front of the car. I use a little more Disc Brake quiet on the back of the shim and your done.

So to break it down

1 shim per pad, all arrows facing forward. DBQ between pad and shim, and a little DBQ between shim and caliper. All Done

With the new pads that you got which is the HPS pads, these pads are know to squeal really bad on DD evo. To help solve your problem when you install the new pads did you grease it correctly? You might say im dumb for asking this but when greasing the pads you just dont put it on the shims. Were ever there is metal contact on the pads and its not grease it will squeal when braking, since metal contact with metal under breaking create friction and heat which cause it to make noise. So its best to go back and make sure to grease the section of the spring plate(holding it in with 2 pins) that make contact with the pads
