265/35/18 rubbing?

Hey guys, I have a 18X9 rim +29 offset and am wondering if i could run a 265/35/18? you think its a little much tire for the rim? I know 255 is a good fit...but the tires I want only come in 265 Also I will be lowered quite alot. I am shaving my rear fenders instead of rolling to help with clearence. Possible anyone?!

Thats a big tire especially if you plan on dropping the car. Overall diameter looks good, but the width might be a tad too much. Really hard to say until you get one on there, lower it, and mod the fenders.

YOu will be fine. Rim width is fine aswell.

Is shaving safer then rolling?

shaving is safer than rolling. just paint the bare metal with touch up after.

you will not clear the rear fenders without shaving or rolling.

it's not too much tire for the wheel. i have a 265 on a 8.5 and it's just fine. of course i don't worry about sidewall stiffness cuz i run r comps. if you don't run r comps then make sure you don't use an 8.5 wheel.

I have 255/40 and am lowered quite a bit. Without shaving or rolling I have no rubbing what so ever with 35mm offset on 17" wheels. If you're willing to shave your fenders it seems like you'd be ok.

^ that is the perfect size in 17. when you take away 5 or more millimeters and att another 5 millimeters to the tire... you lose about a centimeter overall and that puts you in the fender lip.

you more than likely will be fine.

we ran a 245/35-19 with an 8.5 with 29mm offset...

did a bunch of measurements, and now we are going to an 18x9.5 29mm offset with 265/35-18 so u should be fine.

thanks guys..the offset is a little more aggresive(+29) so thats why I was a little concerned about clearence. I will definetly end up shaving the rear so I can gain more clearence then rolling. A048's here I come
