Kuhmo Ecsta AST?

anyone running these? and how do you like them?

I'm having a hard time deciding between these and the ASX's. I like the tread pattern on the AST's a lot better...but the ASX is a higher performance all-season.

any opinons, lemme know - thanks

I don't know anything about the AST, but stay away from the ASX's. They're all season, and they horrid in the snow and SUPER sloppy in the summer, so I'm not sure which seasons they mean.

Since the AST's are a lower performance tire, I'd venture to stay away from them as well.

Not a bad tire, mid pack performer like most the Kumho's out there. A bit better wear and ride than the ASX, but not as much dry handling. Tread design makes them a little noisy, but they will be quieter than the OE Advans.

I think stone wheels would be quieter than the stockers.

I have the ASX's, and they are good inexpensive tires. They are not great performers. I wanted an inexpensive tire to run in the winter, and for that they are okay. If you are looking for sub-$100 tires, your options are pretty limited, but of the tires in that club, the Kumho's are probably some of the best.

I have had them for over a year, with regular rotations, and I think their awsome. I plowed through several inches of snow without any problem. During the summer they are not bad. I lay into corners and concidering that their all season, are very responsive! At the time TireRack rated them as one of the highest. Plus they are $80. Not that you want to cut corners with cheap tires, but these are really good quality. Im sure you did a search and other members have had good experiences as well. Also very quiet!!!! and make the ride a little more comfortable ( my car is lowered and it still relatively comfortable and does not change the cars overall steering geometry performance to a high degree) Of coarse performance summer is like apples and oranges, which is the reason some people dislike these tires. But their all season. So like you instead of swapping tires with the seasons, I get great winter traction vs no winter traction (with summer performace tires). So you have to pic your battles. I would go with them personally. My 2 cents.
