RA-1 is tack tires. RT-615 is street/auto-X. after one lap no more grip. You can't compare the two. they're not in the same class

if you were to post something like NT01 vs RA1. that would be a different story

If you're referrring to the RPF1's it is just the 18's...and only under EXTREME cornering with 285 r-comp rubber. 99% of the drivers won't even have issues with the 18's. They are a race wheel and are very strong.

If you are going to get race tires get race tires. Don't try to get a middle of the road tire because you'll get middle of the road results. Get true race rubber: Kumho V710s.

I'll tell you how I decided on RT615s: I asked myself....."Am I rich?" --> nope --> so I got street tires and use them at the track. Personally I find it a hell of alot more fun to race on street tires but then I'm not trying to be a trophy hound. I'm just having a good time.

The 615s are not only good for one lap either.....they are plenty good for lapping days and high speed events.

Well that's where I'm at, I used to be heavily into drag racing but since this car handles so well and is quick in a straight line I like to do both, right now auto x is very availible and more in my budget so I'd like to do both....but I'm killing my advans very quickly so I figure I get a set for street and a set for auto x so I can wear one set down to the chords without worrying about my commute to work in the morning. I'm not looking to win trophies or be a points leader, just don't want to buy a set of inferior tires and set myself back...but at the same time I'm not worried about buying a slick for stock susp car my 1st year auto xing and just ball around...I'd rather get a very good street tire and learn the basics this year, then when they wear out I can decide if race rubber is for me...only reason I considered the ra1 is because of a fellow evom member running them going about 2 seconds faster then me.

2StepsAdeah. Don't worry about others being faster than you at this point. If your just starting its best to just learn your car. If the other evo driver is about 2 sec faster that ok. The general rule is race tires should drop your times about 1 to 2 sec depending on the autocross course.
