good pad with less dust issues

is there such a pad?
one that gives better than stock braking and produces less dust
my previous car I ran Ferodo DS300Ks and ruined a set of very expensive rims
not to mention how bad it accumulated on the sides of the car
it didnt matter as they were my track set of rims
I also tried EBC reds but they lasted 3 days of Watkins Glen
now I have an EvoMR9 and i think the stock pads arent that great at all

is there a good pad that isnt to crazy with dust for the car

Im just being a baby about the dust as I clean the rims almost daily
any suggestions?

Unfortunately not really.

HPS/Bobcats/Hawk Ceramics have less dust - but similar performance to stock i.e. you can fade them easily on track.

Combo pads like HP+/P+/DS2500 definitely have more friction and fade less quickly - but they dust a bit more (about the same as stock if I could even estimate something like that - but take it w/ a grain of salt) and will still likely fade on track.

Ultimately - race pads/rotors and wheels for track..
street pads/rotors and wheels for street.

Anything else is going to compromise something - you just have to pick what that is.

Welcome to expensive brakes - you are not in civic-land anymore.

I'm very happy with the Porterfield R4-S, but definitely not a track pad for a heavy car like the evo. They work great for street/autox, some squeel.

I disagree, the Ferodo DS2500 pads dust considerably less than OE. I've ran them on my Evo for the most part since 03'. I've had no issues with the wheel finish either. They do dust, and it is more of a brown color.

not sure what to tell you except i feel your pain. i hate brake dust!!! but i think the stock pads are worse than any of those aftermarket types so i guess buy stock in one of them

Thats good to know - ty. Same w/ STI where the stockers are REALLY dusty and expensive.

The DS2500 are good pads. Not much bad to say about them - mebbe a little squeal - and there are some reports of the 3000's wearing quickly on slotted rotors.

I would not use the 3000s for the street... used with the OE fiber shims the DS2500s are as squeak free as OE with better feel.

the 3000s were fine on the street
even through the winter
i never had any cold stop issues
just the occasional sparks that it threw out when braking
then again last winter wasnt bad at all
