Shopping for the right coilover system - suggestions please!

Hello All,

I'm shopping around for a good mid-level coilover system and have narrowed it down to the following kits. Driving will predominantly take place on the street although the car will see the occassional circuit/auto-x throughout the year.

Anyway, i'd appreciate any input or suggestions you might have, thanks!

KW Variant III (http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...oducts_id=1174)

OHLINS Stage III / Height Adjustable (http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...oducts_id=1172)

ZEAL Function-X (http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?m...ng&prodid=1277)

Stock suspension on the street and use the coilovers on the track. That way you don't come on to evom crying about how your new coilover is blown because you hit a pot hole. Sorry for the rant but I am tired of seeing threads about how coilovers are uncomfortable on the street (duh!!!!) and how they have blown on people that drive on ****ty unpaved roads.

I am in the process of installing the Works/Ohlins Stage IV (Flag series) on my car this week, I'll try to give you some feedback next week if you are still undecided.

Both the KW's and the Ohlins are great choices, and we currently use both. Both see circuit/auto-x/almost daily driving.

Both are somewhat similar, main difference is that the KW's are cheaper, bump and rebound adjustable seperately, and the Ohlins are slightly more blingtastic.

Basically, the Ohlins feel like the KW's on a VERY good setting. From here you can easily and simply soften or stiffen the ride as you like it, with a great range of adjustment.

The KW's can be made to feel like the Ohlins....but with the 2 way adjustability, they leave room for a wide variety of adjustments for the track and more. These can truly be tailored to many situations, driving styles, beat up roads, etc.

Ride quality:
just about dead even when the KW's have our "street" rates.
Performance: the nod goes to the KW's, due to 2 way adjustability.
Ease of use: just one knob to mess with on the Ohlins. You may not need a 2 way, or want to fiddle with too many adjustments.
Bling: Ohlins baby....Ohlins .
Price: KW's win.

Andrew beat me to the punch -- he and I have chatted about this the other day and I too will be heading in the direction of KW's.

Tanabe and buddy club both make a great mid level coilover system

The tanabe has a cool new design to adjust dampening called a slide valve. With this the changes made by the teas controller are very quick. Nice if you like the extra bling of a controller in your car and like a little adjustment in dampening without getting out of the car.

Buddy clubs are a very well built coilover. When we sell them we normally sell the 10k front 10k rear. That seems to be a better setup for the car then thier stock rates.
