Pad squeak normal?

I did my front pads about four months ago and the rear two months and recently I've developed a squeak that happens as I slow from about 30mph to a complete stop. I have hawk hps pads front and rear. I installed the front and rear the same. I also turned the rotors only because they were grooved and will be replacing them eventually. Does any of those things from the auto parts store actually stop the noise? I'm more concerned if I screwed something up. Thanks.

The same thing happens with my project mu brake pads. When I first got them they were really quiet, then a few months later it was squeaking like crazy. Fast forward a few months and they were like mouse again. Currently they are squeaking so much I sometimes get embarassed going down the block and often find myself stepping on the brakes harder to stop them from squeaking. They only seem to squeak for me when I am going slow and the pedal pressure is light.

BTW I have PLENTY of pad left on all four corners.

Again, same here. I am using Hawk HP's in the front and back and the front ones squeel like newborn pigs being burned alive. Seems to be a problem with a lot of people. I even put Copper anti squeel. =(

I'm running Hawk HPS and I occassionally get the squeeking noises under light braking. I think it's more due to the Brembos rather than the pad.

Did you guys bed them properly? I had the same queeking problem with my HPS pads. I went out did about 8, 80mph to 10mph HARD stops and it fixed the problem. My brakes were literly smoking after that. Makes sure to warm them up before hand though.

Pretty sure you can rebed them. I put on over 1k miles on my untill I couldn't stand the squeek anymore, and bedded them again, more agressively. 2k miles later, zero aqueeks.

Yea follow that, I would suggest to do couple stops from 80mph to10mph, Do not come to full stops. If you see smoke comming from ur front brakes then your good.

yeah, I bedded mine in properly. What I find now though is that my brakes will only squeak under light braking.

Rebedding the pads is the process of 'exchanging' the transfer layer that makes your brakes work in the first place. It also serves to deglaze the pads somewhat. It can often be effective in reducing or at least changing the squeal characteristics of your brakes.

Anything that 'adjust' the resonant frequencies will do this -

I've had decent success w/ CRC disc brake quiet but it's not permanent. The Brembo's are simply noisy at times - and I suspect thats why the stock pads are so dusty as they put a lot of graphite in there too keep them quiet. Re-using the stock shims - even with the aftermarket shims mayt help as well.

I thought it was because the pads are a little 'loose' in the caliper - but the 4 pots on my WRX are even looser - and I run HP+ with very little noise.
