Do it yourself or have a local shop do it. They still shouldnt charge more than 200 to 300 to do it if even that.
lol i know, i will do them myself i have taken steering and suspension as well as brake courses (even though it has nothing to do with my major (finance)). it was the same dealer that stickers IX's at 41995
Just some thoughts on brakes:
Firstly, there isn't an easier DIY brake project than an evo. An hour max.
I have the Brembo slotted rotors and Hawk HP+ pads front and rear and it is a brilliant setup. The Hawk HPS pads may be a better choice for the back. I have no hinky wear (like the OEM stuff) and more brake than you'll need on the street.
Bleed your brakelines when you change everything as well - mine had a lot of air in the lines stock which made me think I needed stainless brake lines. After bleeding them thoroughly, I didn't need the replacement lines. Castrol SRF brake fluid is magic. Motul RBF600 is a distant second but easier on the wallet. (Clean all brake fluid from your calipers when you are done or risk the dreaded caliper peeling problem.)
My friend's evo has the Performance Friction 2 piece rotors and PF pads as well. I have twice the brakes for half the money.
Stock is not an option. The rotors are junk and the pads are rotor killers for the level of stopping power they have.
