winter

finally put on the snow rubber....awd + ws50 = awesome awesome awesome traction in the snow. i was skeptical about how much traction would improve (compared to all seasons i had before, not my Kuhmo MX) and i am very impressed.

WS-50's are the shizzy. I went with 215/50-17, they tear though the white.

do you put any sandbags or anything to weigh the car down? I have avon tech m550 all seasons and when driving around through all that snow we got, I found myself fishtailing a lot.

no sandbags or extra weight. like everyone else is sayin, these tires rock. i had all seasons on my WRX (the stock tires) last winter and they completely suck compared to the WS50's

where in Bath are you at?!

I just got my tire/wheel combo from the Tire Rack for my STi. The tires are Blizzaks and they are awesome on ice. We had a major ice storm last week and the tires never lose traction.

Props to the Tire Rack for a great product. I was able to get the tire and wheel combo mounted and balanced and delivered to my door in two days. All I had to do was mount them on the car and drive. The stock BBS are safely tucked away until spring.

This is good to hear. I just threw my ws-50's on a few days ago. Now I just need some snow.

I did alot of testing with my car last winter. If you have stock suspension, disconnect your rear sway-bar(assuming your rear camber/toe is right). If you have coil-overs you might want to lower your rear ride height.

After trying coil-overs with different springs/ride height and rake, I went back to stock with 1 degree negative camber 0 toe in the rear. Funny how you can actually get enough traction on snow/ice to need negative camber in the rear.

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably just make due with these tires and drive cautiously this winter and get a summer wheel/tire package and winter tires for my stock enkeis next year.

I live off of Yellow Creek Rd. Where in Akron are you? I don't see too many Evo's around. Do you go to UA, (curious because your sn has zip in it)?
