wheel swap question
wheel swap question
Well, today I looked online to see if a co-workers 06 altima se-r wheels would fit. I found out that the bolt pattern is the same and the offset is good to clear the brakes. We swapped out our two rear rims (enkei<->se-r forged rims) and when I drove around with his on they wobbled on my car a bit while my enkeis on his where fine (we switched back immediately). I wanted to know from a wheel/tire guru why it is that they do that. Yes the lugs were tight and the rim was pushed all the way in. The se-r rims actually looked better than I thought they would on my car.

Do the se-r wheels have a smaller hub bore? If so the wheels were not all the way in. If your enkeis have a larger hub bore, they would go over the Altima's hub, so they would work fine on his car.
Nope. The only spacers to use safely on your car are from companies like H&R, Eibach, etc. They maintain the stock hub bore size to the SE-R wheel hub bore would still be too small. You would have to enlarge the bore to make it sit properly.
Yeah, might as well buy some wider aftermarket wheels... I don't think the se-r wheels are any wider than our stock Enkeis? Anyway, those would be a downgrade from the Enkeis.
