go with hotchkis springs, they come with bumpstops as well, so no need cutting off your stock ones.

don't go with tein springs, their coilovers are great, but cost a lot of $$$. the tein springs will kill your stock shocks....

The Teins give you a better drop, but their rates are worse than stock. Defiently go with Swifts (Ive got em sitting in my trunk waiting to replace my Tein's) and the Espelier GT springs. The Espeliers ACD ive heard some bad things about, but the GT's are great. The Swifts and the Espelier GT's are the ones Robi recommends.

Aftermarket springs on the stock dampers will kill the ride quality and hurt the handling characteristics. True story. Do it once and do it right. Save up and get some coilovers.

I don't agree with this. My ride quality is better than stock with the Swift springs installed and that's with 18" wheels and 235/40 tires.

You don't think the companies making springs specifically for the Evo knew that there aren't aftermarket shock options? Of course they did so it makes sense that the better springs will work fine with the stock dampers.
