best suspension setup?
i want to upgrade my evo8 suspension....can u guys point me in the right path...i just started road racing i dont really feel any understeer except for one lefty, i dont wanna get a complicated set up cause i wouldnt know how to tune it., i was thinking of maybe just lowering springs., maybe get the MR shocks then lowering springs....what u think.????
going with lowering springs and stock shocks will actually hurt your handling. try getting a more aggressive alignment next time you go out to track. More negative camber in the front wouldn't hurt.
i am on a coilover but I was very pleased with the whiteline kca395 kit. it adjusts the front center roll on the car. its probably best if you just start simply trying out different things b/c suspension can be different for everyone. a coilover will definitely give you a wide range of possibilities versus just running a lowering spring.
i always feel its best to tune the car with the proper suspension before you goto swaybars.

EVO's already have decently sized swaybars, but upgrading to a slightly larger bars works out pretty well with a good set of springs.
They are useful as trim devices as well, and help you get a little more rear roll stiffness without impacting ride quality. But for most cases when designing a complete suspension system around coilovers, we skip upgrading the rear bar.

If you are looking into lowering spring there are a few high quality lowering springs you should look into. Eg: GTWorx, Swift, Works, etc ... forget the Tein S-Tech and Eibach Prokit crap. Springs are definately less hassle than coilovers and with the added stiffness and lower ride height should improve handling over stock. Just make sure the springs you choose are matched to the shocks.
