My 245/40's ALMOST look stretched, so Im not sure if I would agree with you there on the 235's. I hate any hint of the stretch look at all though, so maybe Im just super picky.

Are these really worse than other 18x9's or do you just hear more about them having problems because they are getting so popular? I've seen plenty of people running 18x9 Volks and other brands and getting away with 245's and 255's, so why is the RS so tire-limited?

So what offset would be ideal? Seems like most of the trouble that I read about with the RS in +29 is rubbing on the inner fender... you'd want a smaller offset to help with that. But at the same time I see people running 18x9 +35 wheels with no rubbing issues which sould be even worse for rubbing on the inner fender.

I must say I'm torn between the two. In the end, I'll probably favour looks and go with 18x9 +29 with a 235 tyre (that I am legally stuck with since Mitsu Italy has already made the choice for me!)...
I like the import tuner pics a lot and that's exactly the setup I'm considering

must say that looking at the pics here:

the 18x8,5 +35s don't look bad AT ALL!

+29's are the way to go. The only time mine rubbed with 245/40's was In reverse with wheels full locked to the right. Even that went away after the 4th or 5th time too. Thats lowered on swift springs as well.
