Question 255x40x17 and need a drop

I have 255x40x17 on 17x9 inch wheels on my Evo 8.... Car is otherwise stock. I'd like to drop it a bit. I don't want it slammed. I have no problems with a stiff ride. What is my best drop solution?

List the best springs for the money, and the best coilovers for the money. I'm not sure which route I am going.

Thanks

Wow, we have the same car, same color, and same wheels. Any rubbing at all with those GF210s?

I also have 17x9s with 255/40-17s...I run the Hotchkis springs which I got from stikiller.com for right at about $200 shipped. They ride great and look great too

Im assuming your going cosmetics over handling, so save the money and just get springs. swift does the job adequately i do believe.

+1......just make sure it's the Espelir GT's if you go that route. I'm running a 245/40 tire on my 18x9 rims and absolutely no issues what so ever. I don't believe you will either even though you're running a wider set-up

I'm running 255/40 on a 17x9 rim and Swifts on the track. No problems as this is a very common setup with springs and coilovers.

I still run the stock setup with the swifts on the street and I think the ride is improved over stock. Less bounce, better turn in, and more aggressive look. Got mine from GTWorx.

The cheapest coilovers most recommend are the Megans for about $1k I think, but I can't speak to them.

offsets matter people. that will be one the major factors in whether it rubs or not, not just wheel and tire widths and diameters.
