Rethink your tire choices ... why would you put a 225 on a 9" wheel when your stock 8" wheel has a 235 on it? Try a 255/35/18 on a 9" wheel. Try out this calculator to help you choose a tire.

I've owned Motegi's in the past and they were generally heavy and soft wheels. I would not personally put them on my Evo. I've heard good things about their new track series (or whatever they are called). My 18" Motegi MR15s ended up being trashed after bending a couple of them beyond repair. A close friend had 17" Motegi MR12s and one of them cracked while a bend was being repaired.

I upgraded to a set of RoJas (made by Motegi/AR) and they were great wheels. Light for 18" and 2-piece forged. They were strong wheels and I never had an issue with them. Perhaps the track series Motegis are similar, I'm not sure.

I like the look of the Motegis you posted, but the SSR's are likely much better wheels. SSR has a history of making exceptional wheels and I would trust them on my Evo. Personally, I would not put Motegis on my Evo. But, they probably aren't much different than Rotas which a lot of people run.

Good luck on your purchase.

Hey man,

Where in NH are you? I'm in Manch. If you need some wheel and tire advise, I can help. I have accounts with just about every tire manufacturer. And I have an account setup through Enkei. Hit me up with a pm if you need. Always willing to help out a fellow evo member.
