PSS9 spring rate suggestions?

Hi all,

I am looking for advise as to what spring rates would be recommended for these coilovers? My car will see many auto-x days next season(STU Class), but it is also my daily driver (for now at least). So i would like a nice balance of performance and comfort. I was thinking of a 500front/600rear but now im think that might be too high for a daily ride. Or do you think the stock spring rates for the PSS9's are adequate for my needs? The car will have the stock size wheels and street tires, no r-comps.

Thank you

Dan

PSS9 spring rates are in the low 400's and there will be a point where you can't have it both ways without giving up some comfort or some handling.

Dan...hit up Rick Jung in the STU thread...I believe his SN it RX7 SS...he is still running the 9's with different spring rates. When I had mine...I was going to run 450/ 550...but then I swap over to KW V3's. g/l...

Just saw this. 500f/600r would be fine for STU and street use, no need to have them revalved. If you go higher revalving may be in order by Bilstein. $125ea and contact their Poway, CA location.

Kinda OT, but what camber plates work with the PSS9s?
Also, are the PSS9 springs metric or standard I.D.?

I'm leaning towards these as well, but the Ohlins really aren't that much more money considering they come with camber plates/pillowball mounts.

Stock PSS-9 rates are 425lb/in Front and 475lb/in Rear I believe. When I last spoke with the engineer @ Bilstein he didn't recommend going over a 2K difference in sping rate (about ~ 100lb/in + or -) ... Every suspension engineer I've spoken to always have the same recommendation. 600lb/in is close enough to the 475lb/in where the difference is only 125lb/in (close to 100lb/in). Hopefully it shouldn't be outside the range ...

Any camber plate will work with the PSS9s they just need to correct size nut and spacers. Cusco camber plates comes with the right size nut and spacers but you need to make a special mention of this to the vendor you buy it from because they are normally not included. I know that GTWorx has sold Cusco camber plates that fit the PSS9s ... They might be able to give you more specifics if you call them ...
