Smoother ride
Springs
No springs?
Assuming I would go with the MR suspension or something similar, what would be a good spring to go with? I would like to maybe lower the car 1" or so, but if that will result in a stiffer ride, then that kind of defeats the purpose.
I am by no means looking for Cadillac ride quality, but maybe something that doesn't make my teeth click over bumps

We have our own springs that lower the car only 20mm up front and 15mm in the back. They are quite good with the Bilsteins.

The HD Bilstein's are definitely different then the MR stuff, but I'm not sure how different. My best guess is that they are a tiny bit firmer. Just barely. BUT that's only a guess, based on Bilstein HD's compared to other cars with OEM Bilsteins.

if your having issues with the rear sway contacting the sub frame & requiring rubber pads i would say remove the rear sway bar & see if thats the causing your problems.
it is best to properly diagnose & fix any problems before adding more parts as that usually complicates the issue & makes it harder to diagnose the original problem
also, since your tires are worn the lack of rubber will cause them to transmit more road noise & allow you to feel the bumps more. when replacing your tires i would recommend you look into a tire with a softer sidewall than the advans before changing suspension components, as this may accomplish the same function for less time, effort & cost

I'm rollin on worn advans now, but will be replacing them probably with some Kumho Ecsta ASX or Falken 512/519. Haven't quite narrowed the search as to what tire i'm going to go with.

Also anytime you lower a vehicle, the ride is going to suffer in some way. So I would agree, it would defeat the purpose.
OEM Advans have some pretty stiff sidewalls, only tires that come to mind that may be stiffer would be the RT-615's or NT-01's. both tires you listed sound like a good match for your needs.
i went from those stock advans to nitto and there was a huge difference in the ride as soon as i put the nittos on...less bumpy and wobbly and ultra smooth now that ive switched...try the tires..imo much better than the stocks...

Would that help eleminate some of the front end "clunk" that I hear a good amount of the time? I read the large thread on what people thought it was, but didn't see a "for sure" fix. I did see that for a few people it went away after they changed their shocks/struts.
